Chen Hongbi is one of the earliest female translators in translation history in China’s translation history. Her translation method is different from the translation mode before and after the Revolution of 1911, not as a faithful reproduction of the source text. Instead, her translation method presents a discourse different from male translators, highlighting the aesthetic differences between the two sexes. More importantly, women in her translated works embody the expectations of women in the traditional Chinese culture and patriarchal system on the one hand, and on the other hand show that women possess the talents and independent personality and personality that transcend men. As the source of Chinese women’s translation literature, Chen Hongbi’s translation shows the way of women’s discourse, the female’s perspective and psychological experience, conveying women’s dissatisfaction with the patriarchal society and the traditional relationship between the sexes, and constructing the translator’s idealized female image.
