辽宁地区除南端滨海一带外,每年有5个月(头年11月至次年3月末)皆系冬季,而6月下旬至8月上旬两个月期间内又系雨季。以往施工情况是4月间下工地,5月间正式开工,干了一个多月就到雨季,工程基本上停顿;到8月末继续施工,再干一个多月就进入冬季了。这样,实际可以顺利施工的日期每年不到5个月,形成小半年施工大半年闲,一年任务压缩在很短期限内完成,往往形成突击赶工,招致浪费。 1954年起,我们开始注意到了冬季施工的问题,当年修建的抚松松花江桥11孔豪式木桁架,上部安装就是在冬季完成的。以后冬季施工工程量逐年有所增长,由零星工程而至整段路线,由小桥涵而至大桥,逐步摸索和积累了一些经验,也增加了信心。1957年冬全面展开了冬季施工。 1955年修盘山桥时,由于冬季施工在冰面上打桩,克服了深水施工困难,节省了大量支架和脚手架;墩基
