提出了一种基于宽带随机信号测量多模光纤差分模延迟的方法。该方法将放大自发辐射(ASE)光信号分成两路,分别作为参考光与探测光,参考光与经过多模光纤传输后的探测光进行互相关,根据相关曲线峰值的位置可成功测量多模光纤差分模延迟。实验测量了不同长度多模光纤的差分模延迟,并分析了测量信噪比。结果表明,该方法在限模注入下测得待测光纤的差分模延迟系数为0.61ps/m,具有较高的测量信噪比,当相关曲线峰值旁瓣水平为3.16dB时,信号强度仅为噪声强度的5.3%。
A new method to measure differential mode delay of multimode fiber based on wideband random signal is proposed. The method splits the amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) optical signal into two paths, which are respectively used as reference light and probe light. The reference light and the probe light transmitted through the multimode optical fiber are cross-correlated, and the multimode can be successfully measured according to the peak position of the correlation curve Fiber differential mode delay. The differential mode delay of multimode fiber with different length was measured and the signal to noise ratio was measured. The results show that the differential mode delay coefficient of the fiber under test is 0.61ps / m, and the measured signal-to-noise ratio is good. When the correlation peak-sidelobe level is 3.16dB, the signal strength is only 5.3% of the noise intensity.
