随着高校外语教学的改革和发展,各种新的教学方法不断出现,传统的语法翻译教学方法受到不公正的待遇。作者认为,从中国学生学习英语的实际情况出发,该教学方法比较适合中国的英语教学。纵观目前存在的各种教学方法如Communicative Language Learning,Grammar Translation Method,Suggestopedia,Audio-Lingual Method,每一种方法都有其优点缺点。外语教师不应该厚此薄彼,而应该在具体教学过程中综合运用语法翻译法和其他新的教学方法,因材施教, 才能从真正意义上提高大学英语教学的质量。
With the reform and development of foreign language teaching in colleges and universities, various new teaching methods have appeared constantly, and the traditional teaching methods of grammar translation have been unfairly treated. The author believes that from the actual situation of Chinese students learning English, the teaching method is more suitable for China’s English teaching. Throughout the various existing teaching methods such as Communicative Language Learning, Grammar Translation Method, Suggestopedia, Audio-Lingual Method, each method has its advantages and disadvantages. Foreign language teachers should not pay more attention to one another. Instead, they should synthetically apply the grammar - translation method and other new teaching methods in their specific teaching process so as to improve the quality of college English teaching in a real sense.
