论述了世界天然气开发现状及我国天然气发展前景，估计全球最终天然气资源量为283X10‘亿d，l”7年世界夭然气总产量为22997．05亿m-3，年产量平均增长3.149%，大大高于同期石油和其它能源的增长速度。我国天然气最终可采资源量约为10．5×10-4亿,-3，1997年产气量为223亿-3，年增长6．51%．液化天然气是世界天然气贸易中一种有效的和十分重要的储运方式，它占整个天然气贸易的28．66％，估计今后10年中，需求增长率将达到7％。文中同时论述了夭然气基础化工的发展动向和天然气制各烯烃工业的发展动态。
The status quo of natural gas development in the world and the prospect of natural gas development in China are discussed. The estimated global natural gas resources are 283 × 10 10 million d.
