The remote Andes cut Peru in two directions north and south. The eastern Amazonian region is abundant in rainfall, rivers are criss-cross, dense forests and animals flourish. Although the Andes Xilu near the Pacific Ocean, but no rain all year round. Does rain mean no water? There is no rain in most of the western region of Peru, and most areas are indeed hot and dry, but not lacking in water - snow-capped Andean perennial snow, like a natural water tower to the steady supply of fresh water to western Peru. Because of this, the west is drier than the hot, humid, mosquito-borne eastern part, so most of Peru’s cities, including the capital, Lima, are on the western Pacific shores.
