我国黄河中游,地面为性状松散的黄土所伏盖,植被极差,加之雨量集中,常呈暴雨,致使本区水土流失极为严重。给国民经济带来巨大的危害。在本区大力开展水土保持,制止水土流失,提高作物产量,乃是刻不容缓的任务。过去多年来的水土保持工作雄辩地证明,在坡面上采取田间工程措施和农业生物措施密切结合的方法,将能有效地防止水土流失,显著提高作物的产量,而梯田则是极为有效的措施之一。 过去,为了在本区制订一个此较合理的梯田设计标准,各地水土保持机关和一些科学工作者,曾做了不少的试验研究。但是就黄土地区而言,在各种不同地面坡度下,梯田究竟要修多宽多高才算最好呢?由于各家所持的见解不同,因而未能求得一致的认识。不论何种方案,都必须考虑这样几个条件:(1)黄土的松散特性;(2)占地最少;(3)劳力最省;(4)便利耕作。符合
