Acute leukemia (AL) is a malignant disease of the hematopoietic system and accounts for the first place among pediatric malignancies. Because cytotoxic drugs can cause neutropenia and suppress the immune function, children with AL are prone to infection during chemotherapy. Severe infection is one of the important causes of AL death. In order to reduce the rate of nosocomial infection in AL, this article will be hospitalized in children with AL hospitalized in pediatrics from January 1982 to December 1995.
