石榴皮系安石榴科石榴属,落叶小乔木栽培植物石榴(Punica granatum L.)的果皮,用以治疗痢疾,祖国医籍早有記载,如本草綱目載:“酸石榴皮,主治下痢……”。近年来各地有見报导,以石榴皮煎剂治疗細菌性痢疾及阿米巴痢疾疗效尚佳,有称治癒率达98％者。为了发掘祖国医学宝藏,我們以石榴皮煎剂进行了試管內对痢疾桿菌的抗菌实驗,茲将实驗結果报导于后,以供参考。
