“Half a century of love” shot by Taiwanese photographer Lin Tianfu is based on the photographs of 56 elderly Chinese couples aged 50 and over. There are 25 minorities in Yunnan, accounting for about half of the shooting plans. This filming project has been almost 20 years since its inception. Counting today, the longest period of marriage, family and social changes under the lens of Lin Tianfu has reached 70-80 years. This length of time is a very useful sample for thinking about the social changes in ethnic areas. Lin Tianfu is not only a photographer, but also a serious social investigator. Through his photographs and notes, we have been able to outline the development of ethnic minorities in Yunnan.
