My native village of Shijiazhuang, Pingshui County, Cuijia Village, is in the Taihang Mountains. At that time, it was an anti-Japanese base area in the Shanxi-Hebei-Henan border region. In May 1943, I was appointed as the head of Cui Jiazhuang by the Shun Ping Government. One day in March 1944, an Allied plane crashed on a hillside just over 10 kilometers away from Cuijia. This is a U.S. bomber that was wounded by Japanese troops when it was bombed in Tokyo. After six pilots parachuting on the plane, all were enclosed in the woods in the middle of the mountain and could not get out. In the afternoon, I received orders from superiors to promptly organize village militiamen to find distressed American pilots. We first found four of them. see
