It is a challenging task to understand its nature before producing new materials. In general, the structure of a material of very small size is decisive for its nature and function. As the characterization technology continues to evolve, the solid materials studied by scientists are getting closer and closer to the size of a single atom. One of the most special features of scanning electron microscopy is the ability to study relatively large samples, such as those that can be placed in the hand and capable of reaching nanometer-scale resolution. The latest generation of field emission scanning electron microscopy can address the challenges of characterizing nanosized materials.
