Objective To understand the infectious status of hepatitis E virus (HEV) in food and public places in Changping District of Beijing in 2013 and provide a scientific basis for health supervision. Methods A total of 90 998 health check-up workers in food and public places in Changping District in 2013 were collected for statistical analysis. Results A total of 90 988 food and public places practitioners had alanine aminotransferase (ALT) values of 3 145 and abnormal ALT rates of 3.46%. A total of 17 HE antibodies (anti-HEV) were detected, the positive rate was 0.54%. The positive rate of anti-HEV in males was higher than that in females (χ2 = 6.65, P <0.05). Conclusion A certain proportion of anti-HEV positive individuals were detected by practitioners in this area. The incidence of ALT in hepatitis E has some correlation with gender, which has nothing to do with the industry and territoriality.
