Objective: To investigate the effect of minimally invasive thoracic duct clipping on blood lipids in patients with lung cancer. Methods: Sixty patients with lung cancer treated from January 2012 to August 2014 were selected and divided into observation group (minimally invasive thoracic duct clipping operation) and control group (no thoracic duct clipping operation). The levels of total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) in the two groups were observed before and after operation. Results: There were no significant differences in TC, TG, HDL and LDL levels between the two groups before surgery (P> 0.05). The TC levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group after operation; (P <0.05). The level of TG in 12 months was lower than that in control group. The LDL level in observation group was lower than that in control group at 3, 6 and 12 months after operation There was no significant difference in HDL levels between the two groups (P> 0.05). Conclusion: Minimally invasive thoracic duct clipping surgery can reduce the blood lipid in patients with lung cancer to a certain extent, and has certain clinical value.
