顾朴光,祖籍江苏崇明,1942年2月生于贵阳,1964年毕业于贵州大学历史系。曾在中学任教多年,1982年调入贵州民族学院(今贵州民族大学),历任教务处副处长、学报副主编、历史系主任。长期从事中国近代史、中国文化史、中国美术史和民族民间艺术等学科的教学和研究。1987年破格晋升副教授。1993年评为教授。顾朴光教授出版有学术专著、编著、合著18部,主要有《中国面具史》、《中国民间面具》、《贵州少数民族面具 Gu Puguang, native of Chongming, Jiangsu Province, was born in Guiyang in February 1942 and graduated from the Department of History of Guizhou University in 1964.
