The new Wolffianism, which originated in the late 1980s, infused a new source of thought into the study of language transition into depression. Both the immediate thinking hypothesis and the concept transfer hypothesis are the linguistic transfer doctrines that have been inspired by Neo-Wolf’s doctrine. Based on the brief explanation of the connotation of the two hypothesis theories, this article mainly compares and comments on the two theories from the aspects of theoretical sources, theoretical categories, research methods and research development. The former holds a conservative and cautious view, but its operability is strong in terms of research. It has become a paradigm for second language acquisition studies. The latter incorporates socio-cultural factors into the study of the relationship between language and thinking, while integrating language and culture The impact of thinking extends to the overall cognitive level, the theoretical framework is more broad, but still need more research verification, has great potential for development. Both of the two hypotheses interpret the language transfer from the perspective of the influence of thinking on language, which is worth learning from the domestic academic circles.
