Marx was very concerned about the United States before his death. In addition to commenting on the Civil War and predicting the great economic development of the United States and writing for the New York Daily Tribune for ten years, he also seriously considered moving to the “most modern capitalist society” around 1850, In person, he examines and validates his famous vision of “Eighteen Months of Louis Bonaparte,” in which a “vibrant and enthusiastic material production movement is bound to create a new world of its own.” Marx’s failure to do so and the absence of systematic monographs are indeed a history for many respected American scholars
