Russia plans to launch the second GLONASS-K at the end of 2011. The first GLONASS-K satellite was launched on February 26, 2011 at the Plesetsk Space Launch Site in Russia by a coalition-2 -1B launch vehicle was successfully launched and successfully entered a circular orbit at a distance of 19100 km and an inclination of 64.3 °. According to the plan, Russia will launch another 4 second-generation GLONASS-M satellites in 2011 and set this year as Russia’s “space year.” This also indicates that the construction of the Russian GLONASS global satellite navigation system will again enter the fast lane after experiencing the pain of the failure of three GLONASS-M satellites at the end of 2010.
