Helios(太阳神)系列卫星为军用成像侦察卫星,由法国、意大利和西班牙联合投资,至今已经发射了2颗。 第一颗Helios卫星(Helios la)1995年7月由阿里安4火箭发射进入低极轨道,卫星在轨质量2750kg,设计寿命5年。它采用了Spot 4卫星的基本平台,分辨率为1～5 m。Helios 1a卫星的分辨率能在白天对战场上的坦克精确定位。Helios 1a卫星上携带了由Tomson-CSF公司提供的高分辨率CCD装置。第二颗Helios卫星(Helios 1b)1998年1月由阿里安4火箭发射进入低极轨道,Helios 1b卫星与Helios 1a卫星完全相同。
The Helios series of satellites, a military imaging reconnaissance satellite, have been jointly launched by France, Italy and Spain and have been launched to date. The first Helios launcher was launched into the low polar orbit by the Arian 4 rocket in July 1995. The satellite orbital mass is 2750 kg and its design life is 5 years. It uses the basic Spot 4 satellite platform with a resolution of 1 to 5 m. The resolution of the Helios 1a satellite can pinpoint the tank on the battlefield during the day. The Helios 1a satellite carries a high resolution CCD unit from Tomson-CSF. The second Helios 1b was launched into the lower polar orbit by the Arian 4 rocket in January 1998. The Helios 1b satellite is identical to the Helios 1a satellite.
