Objective To investigate the clinical significance of the changes of γ-glutamyl transpeptidase and total bilirubin in neonatal transfusions. Methods The data of 49 cases of γ-glutamyl transpeptidase and total bilirubin after transfusional treatment were analyzed retrospectively in 7 days after birth. Results Before and after exchange transfusion, γ-glutamyl transpeptidase and total bilirubin had very significant changes (P <0.01). Conclusion The changes of γ-glutamyl transpeptidase and total bilirubin have an evaluation on the efficacy of transplanting blood in neonates. The level of γ-glutamyl transpeptidase has reference value for the pathological changes of hepatobiliary in children.
