由于启蒙运动及其精神遗产对人类社会产生了广泛而深刻的影响,“启蒙反思”成为当代人类的一项紧迫任务。为此,在肯定启蒙精神积极意义的同时,亦必须正视启蒙精神的三大盲点。在此基础上,要通过调动包括非西方文明与原初传统在内的多方资源,在对话中超越启蒙心态,成就“多元现代性”。儒家天人合一的人文主义可以在自身、社群、自然和上天四层面为超越启蒙凡俗的人文主义提供思想资源。前辈现代新儒家主要是要将儒家思想在基本精神方向上纳入启蒙理性的范畴之内,与之不同,杜维明更为自觉地突显了儒家思想与以启蒙理性为基础的西方现代性的不同取向。如何更完整地突显建立在儒家智慧精神基础上的中国式“现代性”的核心价值,是现代儒学有待进一步解决的课题。
Because Enlightenment and its spiritual heritage have a widespread and profound impact on human society, “Enlightenment Reflection” has become an urgent task for the present mankind. To this end, while affirming the positive significance of enlightenment, we must also address the three major blind spots of enlightenment. On this basis, we should surpass the enlightenment mentality and achievements in the dialogue by mobilizing multi-dimensional resources including non-Western civilizations and original traditions and achieving “plural modernity.” Humanism of Confucianism, combining man and nature, can provide ideological resources for humanism beyond the enlightenment of humanity, community, nature and heavenly four levels. In contrast, the predecessors of modern Neo-Confucianism mainly included Confucianism within the scope of enlightenment rationality in the basic spirit orientation. In contrast, Du Weiming even more consciously emphasized the different orientations of Confucianism and Western modernity based on Enlightenment rationality. How to more fully highlight the core value of Chinese-style “modernity” based on the Confucian wisdom is the subject to be further solved by modern Confucianism.
