The industrial revolution brought economic prosperity to the United States in the 20th century and at the same time changed the role of people in social life dramatically. People become part of the machine, and the “alienation” of the body leads to the alienation, defamiliarization and alienation of the relationship between people, people and society. In this alienated society, the “freaks” who live in solitude are so neglected that under their lonely face they hide their heart full of true love. Perhaps the only way out of this loneliness is to get them out of their own circle of life, to communicate with others and to understand and adapt to a changing society.
