《东方红》3型内燃机车的风泵散热器(材质为铝合金),是采用氩弧焊焊接方法制成的。该机车在运行时由于风泵的自身运转和机车的剧烈振动,使风泵散热器平均只能用一个轮修期(15000公里),就在焊接处产生裂纹造成散热器泄漏,甚至使极个别的上、下集管板脱落,严重地危胁着行车安全。为解决机车检修工作中长期存在的老大难问题,沈阳铁路局科研所的同志们在有关单位的协助下,经过两年多的反复试验,终于研制成J19粘接剂。经鉴定认为,这种粘接技术操作简便、强度高、坚固耐用,能降低消耗,为我国铁路运输机车检修创出一条新路。该粘接剂配方如下:取85克J19胶,再加入15克二氧化钛粉,经过搅拌均匀后即可备用。下面将粘接工艺介绍如下。
