The coordination of tin is essentially octahedral, with the nitrogen atoms from bidentate ligand DPphen and cis-chlorine atoms lying in the equatorial plane and the two carbon atoms from trans-butyl groups in the axial positions. The average Sn-N distance of 2.39A happens to be in the shortest limit for this kind of complexes exhibiting antitumor activity.
