以“钉金绣”而独步天下的潮绣,具有浓郁民族风格和地方特色的潮州瓷,巧夺天工的翡翠玉雕,极具艺术张力的揭阳木雕……丰富多彩的民间工艺,是探寻潮州文化的一张藏宝图。潮州城是海上丝绸之路的起点,也是粤北、赣南以及闽西人员往来、内外商贸货物的集散地。潮商从这里出发,携带潮州瓷、潮绣、玉雕等“土特产”走南闯北,还引进多姿多彩的新式技术和西方工艺,传统与新潮、古典与西式,加上本地手艺人的创意,碰撞出令人惊喜的火花。
