有人说:《孩子王》在国内仅卖出三个拷贝,可称之为赔钱货。笔者想列举些有限的资料供读者评判。▲一九八七年首届中国电影展,《孩子王》在八十五部参展片中居国外订购拷贝数首位(见《文化艺术报》三月二日)。▲一九八八年五月,《孩子王》被戛纳电影节主席抢去参赛,虽未能获奖,但据六月四日《文汇电影时报》报道,有十几个国家购买版权,意大利出十多万美元,法国出四五十万法郎,美国也准备以二十万美元购买版权(过去中国电影最高版权费仅三千美元)。▲一九八八年六月二十三日,国际电影电视和视听交流委员会巴黎联合国总部正式宣布为《孩子王》
