δ-氨基乙酰丙酸简称(δ-ALA)是机体合成血红蛋白的中间产物,也可以说是构成血红蛋白的成分,它在δ-ALA脱水酶的作用下生成卟胆原。过量的铅离子进入机体可抑制此酶的活性,使反应受阻,因此阻碍δ-ALA合成血红蛋白的中间体-卟胆原,致使δ-ALA在体内蓄积,经肾脏排出体外,因而尿中δ-ALA增高。近几年来国内外有很多报导,铅接触者和铅中毒者尿中粪卟啉增高时尿中δ-ALA也随之增高,因而推荐尿δ-ALA作为普查筛选指标和作为铅吸收的早期诊断指标。
