“√”这个符号是老师批改学生作业时写下的,表示内容正确。做学生的最熟悉了。但“√”的来历却不大为人所知。据说,它来源于英国教师的手笔。他们看到学生作业内容无误,便信手写上批语“right”(英语,意为“正确”)。后来又从简写成right的第一个字母r,反正“right”是英语里尽人皆知的单词。久而久之“r”又演化为更加简单的写法,这就是“√”。其后,西学东渐,风俗交流,中国近代教育界也引进了这个既简便又明了的书写符号,正式用来表示学生作业正确无误。至
