陈亚梅:你是一个主要致力于包括影像、戏剧、多媒体、公共艺术等媒介艺术在内的艺术家,那么您认为当代艺术是什么?你怎样界定当代艺术?汪建伟:我觉得应该从两个大方向来解释当代艺术,第一个方向是关于时间及在这个时间里怎样去构成作品。其实我觉得关于当代就是正在进行中的延时,这话听起来很难理解,但是对我来讲我觉得很重要的是一个来自于其它不同时刻的姿势构成关于当代的一种解释,不仅仅是关于封闭在艺术史这个系统里的解释。比如说关于时间,有没有一种可能我们重新开始回到既不能用任何以往的经验来记忆,同时我们也不要提供一种对于未来目标的一种解读。这两种方向和时间都可能是对当代的一种误读,具体的说就非常的 Chen Yamei: You are an artist mainly engaged in media art including video, drama, multimedia and public art. Wang Jianwei: I think we should come from two general directions Explaining contemporary art, the first direction is about time and how to make a work at this time.
