真立体显示技术是虚拟现实中的关键技术之一,而如何组织和存储其中大量的彩色立体图对,则显得尤为重要。由于立体图对之间的相关性,传统的压缩算法(JPEG、MEPG等)从速度和效率上不再适应。本文提出了一种结合JPEG标准并利用立体图象对相关性的压缩编码新方案,并获得了较高的压缩比及信噪比。实验结果表明了这种新方案的优越性。
True stereoscopic display technology is one of the key technologies in the virtual reality, and how to organize and store a large number of color stereoscopic pairs is particularly important. Traditional compression algorithms (JPEG, MEPG, etc.) no longer adapt in terms of speed and efficiency due to the correlation between stereo pairs. In this paper, we propose a new compression coding scheme based on the JPEG standard and using the stereo image pair correlation, and obtain a higher compression ratio and signal-to-noise ratio. The experimental results show the superiority of this new scheme.
