[Objective] To study the hypoglycemic effect of black buckwheat dry powder.[Method] The hypoglycemic effects were investigated in alloxan-induced diabetic mice after oral administration of black buckwheat powder with different dosage(0.50 and 0.25 mg/kg),different granularity(sieved from 120 and 200 meshes) and different drying ways(freeze-drying and drying) for 14 days. The blood glucose(GLU) levels of mice were determined.[Result] The high dosage, sieved from 200 screen and freeze-drying of black buckwheat powder lowered diabetic mice’s glucose level obviously.[Conclusion] Black buckwheat powder possessed hypoglycemic activities to alloxan-induced diabetic mice.
