采用辐射处理使雄虫不育,自五十年代初期开始,已为各国所重视。1954年在美国库腊索岛上首次对螺旋羊皮蝇获得田间试验成功。目前,据国际原子能机构的统计,至少有30多种害虫经过试验研究,可以作野外田间试验。国内用钴-60γ射线辐照松毛虫、红铃虫、玉米螟等可以造成不育,但田间试验效果尚需进一步试验研究。为进一步验证用钴-60γ射线对松毛虫雄蛹产生不育及进行田间试验的可能性,1973年在越冬代(4-5月)及第一代(7-8月)蛹期,我们进行了室内、外试验,现将试验结果整理如下:
