木本植物根的年生长模式因树种而异,与环境因素、尤其是土壤温度和土壤含水量有密切关系。柑桔的根生长被认为是周期性的,每年有2~3个周期。不过,某些生长可持续全年。据在以色列的观察,当土壤温度充足时,根系生长可受定期灌溉的调节。在落叶果树上,枝梢生长期间根生长势降低,与枝梢生长量明显呈比例关系。在柑桔上观察到了根与枝的生长交替,但根与枝同时生长的情况也已见诸报导。对于柑桔根生长与枝梢生长之间关系的确切本质尚无详尽探讨。过去要么只是简单记录了根、枝生长出现的时间,要么就是主观武断地估计其生长量。
The annual growth pattern of woody roots varies with tree species and is closely related to environmental factors, especially soil temperature and soil water content. The root growth of citrus is considered to be periodic, with 2 to 3 cycles per year. However, some grows throughout the year. According to Israeli observations, root growth can be regulated by regular irrigation when soil temperature is sufficient. In deciduous fruit trees, the root growth potential of shoots decreased during shoot growth, and the shoot growth was obviously proportional. The alternation of growth of roots and shoots was observed on citrus fruits, but the simultaneous growth of roots and branches was also reported. The exact nature of the relationship between citrus root growth and shoot growth has not been exhaustively explored. In the past either simply recorded the root, the emergence of branch growth time, either subjectively and arbitrarily estimated its growth.
