June 1999, just took office of the United States Army Chief of Staff Eric new Commissioner, determined to use his power to create a new army. In October of this year, he and Army Minister Calderra jointly proposed the “Army Conception,” and planned to spend about 70 billion U.S. dollars on building the U.S. Army into an “all-wheeled army” in about 10 years. A year later, on November 17, 2000, the U.S. Army announced the ordering of more than 2,000 new wheeled armored vehicles, officially opening the new round of U.S. Army “wheeled” process. The United States Army took a long time, spent a lot of money, hard-won most of the infantry division equipped with superior performance M1A1, M1A2 “Abrams” main battle tanks and M2, M3 armored infantry fighting vehicles.
