在新世纪,公司无论大小都需要保护一种新的宝贵财产——知识财产(IP—Intellectual Property)。谁能保住自己的IP,谁就能在充满竞争的全球市场中取得成功。可口可乐公司将其软饮料配方深藏于银行保险柜内,只让少数人接触就是保护IP的范例。如何保护IP?作者列举的措施是:设立信息技术部门和主管;申请专利;明确保密等级;与IP律师密切合作;与雇员签订有关IP保密和IP系列所属权的合同。国外业务则应采取符合该国具体情况的保护措施。 作者在结束本文时再次强调:为了保护IP,“Get a lawyer—early!—Who hasexpertise in your special IP field…and you absolutely need to work closely with an IPlawyer who knows you business.”
In the new century, companies need to protect a new kind of valuable property—IP—Intellectual Property. Who can keep their IP, who will be able to succeed in a competitive global market. Coca-Cola’s deep-soaking of its soft-drink recipes in bank safes is a paradigm for IP protection. How to protect IP? The authors listed measures: setting up information technology departments and supervisors; applying for patents; clarifying the level of confidentiality; working closely with IP lawyers; signing contracts with employees on IP confidentiality and ownership of the IP series. Foreign businesses should adopt protective measures that meet the specific conditions of the country. At the end of this article, the author once again stressed: In order to protect the IP, “Get a lawyer—early!—Who hasexpertise in your special IP field...and you absolutely need to work closely with an IPlawyer who knows you business.”
