“Sa Ye Er” is a unique funeral custom of the Tujia people in the Qingjiang River Valley. Its origin can be traced back to the ancient Pakistani era, at least 4,000 years ago. After being banned by a series of suppression exercises such as collective labor and the Great Cultural Revolution, “Sa Ye Er Shi ” not only has not been lost, but has been well preserved. Nowadays, it has already reached the world. This article will give a brief analysis of the reasons why “Sa Ye Er” can be retained.
