犯罪报道一直是新闻学术界争论的话题。本文通过美国电视媒体对华盛顿狙击手枪击案报道的分析,揭示了在电视媒体高度发达的现代社会,犯罪报道涉及到更为复杂的社会和道德问题。受众、警方、作案人和媒体四方在新的形势下,存在着既相互依存又对立的关系。如何在纷繁复杂的商品社会中把握自己的道德取向,正确处理收视率和社会责任的关系,这是电视媒体必须下功夫去研究解决的问题。
Crime reporting has been a topic of debate in the news academy. This article analyzes the coverage of the Washington shooter shooting by the U.S. television media, revealing that in the modern, highly developed television media, crime coverage involves more complex social and moral issues. The audience, the police, the perpetrators and the media, the Quartet in the new situation, there is both interdependence and antagonistic relations. How to grasp their moral orientation in the complicated commodity society and correctly handle the relationship between audience rating and social responsibility is a problem that the television media must make efforts to study and solve.
