李厚杉原名(李厚山),1941年出生于山东临沂,50年代初被中国著名画家王小古收为入室弟子,后又受教于崔祝生、鄣仲选、刘海粟大师。近50年来,他不负众恩师所望,毫不懈怠地实践、探索、奋进,潜心钻研绘画艺术并吸取古今艺术精华,形成了自己粗犷奔放、雄健憨厚、朴实自然的独特风格。他的作品题材涉猎广泛,尤擅长牡丹、梅、兰、竹、菊等。作品线条遒劲流畅,设色自然典雅,构图别致清新,笔、墨、气、情浑然一体,达到了传统精神与现代意味的完美统一。
Li Hou-shan, formerly known as Hou Houshan, was born in 1941 in Linyi, Shandong Province. In the early 1950s, he was accepted as a disciple by Wang Xiaogu, a famous Chinese painter. Later, he was taught by Cui Zhu-sheng, Chi Chung-xuan and Liu Haisu. In the past 50 years, he has not betrayed the favor of his teachers and has practiced, explored and forged ahead with painstaking efforts. His painstaking efforts have been devoted to studying the art of painting and drawing on the essence of ancient and modern art to form his own unique style of rough, unadorned, honest, simple and natural. His works covered a wide range of subjects, especially good peony, plum, blue, bamboo, chrysanthemum and so on. Works smooth lines, natural colors, elegant, composition chic fresh, pen, ink, gas, love seamless, reached the traditional spirit and the perfect means of modern unity.
