The Apostles is the most famous long poem of the late Hungarian patriotic poet Petofi Santosh (1823-1849). Its writing period (June-September 1848) was precisely the period of patriotic war that entered the fiercest period after the Pace Uprising. It was also a time for the Austrians to make an all-out offensive to the newly victorious Hungary.
