In the meantime, affected by the ongoing sluggish macro economy, the newspaper industry in the country is in a depression and the Shanxi newspaper industry, which is located in a resource-based area, is even more harsh. This paper analyzes the status quo of the newspaper industry in Shanxi, the necessity and feasibility of the reform and the exploration of the reform path in the light of the practical experience of the newspaper industry reform and media convergence in the country so as to provide some useful references for the transformation and development of the newspaper industry in resource-based areas .
