The different waters of the Three Kingdoms Caowei period, which is now known as the “Gao Di River” in Xuchang County of Henan Province, is a river with a long history of irrigation. According to Shu Daoyuan’s “Shui Jing Zhu Shu Shu”, it reads: “The water flows out of Xinzheng County, southwest of Dazhao Mountain (ie, Mount Cishan—author’s note), southeast of Changge County, and southeast into Xuzhou.... In the southeast, it enters Yixian County. It enters the Weihe River in the east, and the Weihe River is also known as the Shuoshui County. This statement is similar to the “Xuchang County Chronicle” and “Xuzhouzhi”. Different waters have appeared seasonal rivers during the Han and Wei periods of the Warring States period. On the maps of the Eastern Han Dynasty and the Cao and Wei periods of the Three Kingdoms, there were long-term rivers marked by different waters. After the dynasties of the Sui Dynasty, the Tang Dynasty, the Five Dynasties, the Song Dynasty, the Yuan Dynasty, the Ming Dynasty, and the Qing Dynasty, they were still called different waters. Before and after 1700 years, different waters also changed. According to “Xuchang County Chronicle”, the records of Xuchang County’s Xiaozhao, Hancun, Chen Cao, Wujie, Yuxiu, and Fuling County were different.
