古波近几年的油画作品,给我的感觉是成熟了,前几年的作品大多他都毁掉了,那一批作品,我觉得在绘画语言上不太成熟。那些作品很强调意识形态精神上的东西,关注人性,再现他对人、世界的看法,这些都是无可厚非。但那些作品他不重视和放弃了绘画语言,所以我觉得不太成熟,因为不讲绘画语言,基本就脱离了绘画的土壤,至少我是这样以为的。但现在的这一批画就不同了,我觉得画风成熟且独特,也有相当的品位,其中很多作品都以生动这一独特方式展现出来,这些画我都很喜欢,特别是《洗衣的母亲》《卖玉米的人》《小吃》这三幅更突出一点。它们都反映了现实的中国人、他身边的人的生活的纪录。随着时间的推移,这些题材内容、生活面貌将随之变成历史,它们除了有文化艺术研究价值以外,必然也会有社会生活的历史研究价值。这是所有现实主义作品的共同特征,希望他能沿此风格走下去,我认为至少应该作为他的绘画风格之一,因为此风格包括画技都很成熟,至少我个人这样认为。

I hope he can go down this style. I think at least he should be one of his painting styles, because this style is very mature, including painting techniques, at least personally.
