随着电视产业化发展步伐的加快,电视频道化的趋势日益明显。这里所说的电视频道,已经不限于纯粹物理意义上的“频道”概念,它是以此为技术基础、以节目和信息形式形成的统一形象和整体效果。电视频道经营机构则拥有该频道完整的使用权,负责该频道节目的制作和发布,比如中央台的“电影频道”、“体育频道”和湖南台的“卫视频道”、“经济频道”、“生活频道”、“文体频道”、“影视频道”等。电视频道机构伴随频道设立,或者从电视台演变而来。它具有以下几个方面的特征:一是相对独立的组织机构,拥有一个完整的电视频道使用权,因而不同于电视节目公司:二是承担节目播出前的组织、编辑、制作等生产环节,职能相对于电视台比较单一,三是隶属于电视台或者电视产业集团,不一定具有法人资格;四是以拥有的频道为社会服务,并承担宣传机构相应的义务和责任。
