通过对豫北辉县、新乡县、延津、卫辉等地棉铃虫的田间系统调查,基本摸清了一代棉铃虫在该地区的种群动态,即越冬平均密度为1.9头/m2,越冬代蛾盛期为各月底至5月初,幼虫3龄盛期在5月中旬。通过室内饲养观察了棉铃虫的活动危害习性.即1天的活动取食高峰呈不均称双峰型等;测定了幼虫的食量,2~6龄幼虫的日均食量分别为0.8粒,1.9粒,2.7粒,3.1粒,4.3粒。1头幼虫可完全破坏47.7粒小麦。在讨论中提出了对麦田棉铃虫发生危害与防治的几点看法。
