浙江省博物馆藏祝允明与文徵明合作之《四体千字文》,祝书真草二体,文书篆隶二体,为展示他们壮年时期书法面貌的难得之作。祝文两人为明中期吴中最杰出的书家,他们都师法赵孟頫习书的路子上追晋唐。特别是文徵明,有意恢复古法,在篆隶的传承与推广方面着力尤多,但在实际书写中却仅取了篆隶的结体,笔法依旧是行楷帖学的路子,观者感受到的是雅而不古的书卷气。他虽然受到画史上仿古风气逐渐盛行的影响,但摹写方式趋于自由,重点借古人的精神、气韵作深入发挥,形成自己的创作语言。
