In teaching practice, a common problem is that some materials misuse the metaphorical sentence of a word as a metaphorical lattice. For this reason, it is necessary to give distinctions and corrections. The following example sentence is often mistaken for the metaphor. (1) In the past, some leaders love to wear small shoes for those who commented. (2) Put down the burden and study hard. (3) It is wrong for a gay to buckle a hat. (4) Now, in the Cultural Revolution, the phenomenon of making blinders, nephews, and sticks disappeared. (5) The trend of reform is irresistible. The reason for this is that it is not clear what the essential difference between metaphorical meaning and metaphor is. What is the difference between the two?
