9月8日,台风“桑达”袭击了日本北海道以及西部一些地区,造成至少31人死亡,14人失踪,900余人受伤。另外,“桑达”还导致日本国内交通陷入暂时混乱。日本北部地区铁路交通运输暂时中断。9月7日和8日两天,日本航空公司共取消了188次国内航班,4次国际航班,至少有2.7万名乘客无法按时登机。台风以及强降雨已经造成2千亿日元(约合18亿美元)的经济损失。
On Sept. 8, Typhoon SEDA attacked Hokkaido in Japan and parts of western China, killing at least 31 people, missing 14 and wounded more than 900. In addition, “SEDA” also resulted in temporary traffic jams in Japan. Rail transport in northern Japan temporarily suspended. On September 7 and 8, Japan Airlines canceled a total of 188 domestic flights and 4 international flights, leaving at least 27,000 passengers unable to board on time. Typhoon and heavy rains have caused 200 billion yen (about 1.8 billion U.S. dollars) in economic losses.
