钻头的平面刃磨法,在生产中的应用日益广泛。其中,尤以三平面钻头(见图1)最广。其特点是每个刃瓣上均具有三个平面:第一个平面形成后刀面,而第二与第三个平面分别在刃瓣周围和钻心形成后背部分。第一平面构成毗连着主切削刃和横刃的后刀面1.它的参数(锋角2φ和圆柱剖面上圆周后角α_1)可根据被加工材料的性质而定。为了获得规定的后角α_1,在刃磨时须先按公式求出法后角α_(1N),然后进行调整。角a_(1N)可由下式计算:
