吴昌硕是中国历史上真正能够代表艺术家走出国门影响到海外的巨匠,并且是在世的时候就影响到海外的一位艺术家,这非常难得。从书法史上的传播来讲,王羲之、颜真卿等晋唐名家,包括宋元明清书家在海外都有一定影响,但他们都是在身后作为历史人物在海外的传播与影响。中日书法之间,什么时候开始有真正的交流?我曾经特别想写一本书《中国书法东渐史》,早先中国书法跟日本
It is very rare for Wu Changshuo to really represent the artist’s overseas influence in Chinese history and influence an overseas artist when he was alive. Speaking from the history of calligraphy, Wang Xizhi, Yan Zhenqing and other famous writers in the Jin and Tang Dynasties, including those from the Ming, Yuan and Ming Dynasties in Song, Yuan and Ming dynasties all had a certain influence overseas.
