Prostaglandins (PGs) are a group of natural substances with a wide range of biological activity. Their effects on the reproductive system are one of the main bioactivities. Different types of prostaglandin activity is also different, PGE 2 can cause uterine smooth muscle contraction, and therefore termination of pregnancy - anti-early pregnancy and abortion have a significant role, while PGA_2 is not biologically active.
